A party is enclosed in a timeless bubble, a tent in which everything has a different logic. It is time of celebration, where traditions are preserved and respected, but nothing is in the right place.

Party day is a day of changes in perception.

Schützenfest is a traditional German festival based on a shooting contest. Men shoot at a wooden representation of a bird: the winner of the competition becomes the King. In this battle for the kingship, there is also a connection with archaic animal sacrifices that were festive celebrations for the community.

I made this video while artist in residence at Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, Germany.

In questo video la festa viene racchiusa in una bolla senza tempo, un tendone dentro il quale tutto ha logiche diverse, è il tempo della Festa, dove le tradizioni vengono conservate e rispettate.

Dove ogni cosa non è più a suo posto.

Schützenfest è una festa tradizionale tedesca, dove viene messa in scena una battuta di caccia.

Una competizione dove il bersaglio è la rappresentazione in legno di un uccello, e chi riesce a colpirne l’ultimo pezzo viene decretato Re per un anno. Una battaglia per il Regno che antropoligicamente riprende elementi presenti in arcaici riti sacrificali dove il sacrificio era un’ occasione di festività per la comunità.
